I’ve been knowing Hemal Radia for some time now. We first crossed paths a year or so ago, on Facebook, and again crossed paths a few months ago when I noticed a friend of mine sending Hemal a @tweet. Hemal is a fabulous, high-energy, fast talking, “tapped in”, intuitive Law of Attraction coach, fun to bounce ideas with, and these days he’s also an exceptionally well-loved, well-adored (what other guy do you know whose audience based started up an appreciation group in Facebook just for him??), in-demand guy.

We’d be planning, for a little while, to do something together professionally. Originally, it started out with plans for SKK to handle the cover design for an upcoming book release. Over time, other ideas have bounced around – Hemal has the ability to be a perfect catalyst and co-conspirator, and not just with me of course, but he seems to be that way with everyone with whom he speaks.

To make a long story short, one thing led to another, led to another, led to… well… you get the idea. No, it didn’t lead *there*, geez! Next week, Hemal is conducting a Teleseminar called “Learning the Law of Attraction and Making It Work for YOU!”, which I will be discussing in its own post shortly. But it’s my pleasure to say that, when it came to designing the promotional page, Hemal basically came to me and said, “So, Jessie… I have this design project…”

Immediately, I started having visions in my head. Something really simple, something elegant, something punchy but refined, very stylish (NO run-of-the-mill nasty, MS Word generated, highlight and underline laden, “I’ve got to be LOUD or I might not be able to make a sale”, “wtf is a sidebar anyway??” god-how-I-really-hate-’em sales page here!) but minimal. The page is mostly text driven with graphics that, while attention grabbing, are strictly there to accentuate the message and help structure the message and guide the reader down to the important part – the registration page!

Well, folks, the first draft was a COMPLETE dud. That’s right! i mean, it was nice and all, lovely actually, but it just didn’t quite… “fit”. So I sat down last night, threw out the design, started fresh and, in about three hours, built a new design, reworked the copy content a little (I’m surprised Hemal didn’t try to “rework” me a little over that, hah!

Today, I fixed a few errors, set up the affiliate program, forgot to link it from the promo page, fixed that, realized the affiliate link was broken, fixed that and…
